Het uiterlijk van het huis – tegenwoordig volgens zijn historische oorsprong “Bisschopshuis” genoemd- dateert uit 1843, toen de reconstructie van het 16e-eeuwse gebouw na 6 jaren werk afgerond werd. Recent archeologisch onderzoek heeft uitgewezen dat op deze plaats al in de prehistorische periode een nederzetting stond. De laatste gehele reconstructie van het gebouw werd in 1999 afgerond. Achter de "Empire" façade vinden de gasten zowel het comfort van nu als authenieke sporen van het verleden.
